11/9/11 - Today's Prayer

Lord…

I know I don’t do it often (& that’s a shame because it’s so easy to give thanks & doesn’t even take long)… but I want to THANK YOU for your Love & Mercy in my life.

Thank you for my family, friends & loved ones (they really do mean a lot to me, even though sometimes they drive me crazy). Thank you for allowing me another day in paradise, for my job (because despite what people might think – I DO WORK! – well, sometimes at least).

Thank you for my health & well-being & for everyone & everything that enters my life daily. Help me accept them "as-is" with the good & bad, virtues & flaws that they can offer.

Thank you because despite all the doubt & despair that surrounds me (& I’ll admit, sometimes I too do it) I can still hold my head up high, smile as if nothing hurts & confront the world simply because YOU are by my side.

I love you, Lord… I’m far from perfect but I DO LOVE YOU with all my heart… YOU are the only ONE that has NEVER, EVER left me… Your Love & Mercy have guided every step I’ve given in my life… I know I’ve lost my way at times… I’ve fallen so deep in hurt & despair… but YOU have NEVER left my side. Thank you, Lord, because with YOU nothing is impossible.
